A blog is a small room you tidy on your own time.
Who I am, roughly
I'm Ellis Wren, somewhere in my mid-thirties, somewhere on the U.S. west coast, mostly behind a keyboard. I read more than I finish, cook more than I plate, and I've kept some version of this site running since the late 2010s. I don't post on schedule and I don't run analytics — if you're here, you found it on purpose.
Four corners
- Books — what I'm reading, sometimes re-reading, occasionally giving up on.
- Kitchen — recipes I keep coming back to, plus the ones I quietly ruined.
- Tools — bits of software I'd recommend to a friend over coffee.
- About — this page, updated when the bio stops being true.
If you're here for the RSS
Yes, there's a feed. Append /feed to any of the section pages and your reader should pick it up. I still think RSS is the only sane way to follow a slow site, and I'm grateful you've kept yours alive.
Write as if no one is reading, and read as if no one is watching.
